The price has always been on the high side but the constant endorsement of celebrities made it the place to be seen. The shop even has a step-and-repeat style wall where you can snap a shot of celebrities or a selfie.

Those shots often end up on the shop's social media pages which have all been taken down. No one answered the phone when Patch called and the shop's voicemail is full.

But like all things in Hollywood, what was once red-hot can become ice cold overnight. So it seems, Millions of Milkshakes will become just another minor footnote on in the ever-changing landscape of La-La Land. And just like Hollywood, the international market seems to be kinder. I try to picture Cher Lloyd or Justin Bieber drinking their customized fusion of sweets in the cheesy diner-style building, grinning as cameras flash and crazed fans cheer from the sidewalk outside.
